Our team are genuinely happy to come to work every day with the goal of creating strong and lasting relationships with Canberra’s pet owners. It is our delight to meet your new puppies and kittens and watch them grow into happy mature adults. We love teaching our clients how to best look after their pets to ensure their furry family members have long and happy lives. That is why we have a strong focus on preventative medicine so you can spend less time at the vets and more time at home enjoying your pets.

Meet the team

Dr Jasmine Gregory BVSc

Director / Head Veterinarian

Our founder, Dr Jasmine knows how important pets are in the lives of her clients. She has always loved pets and loves to see them live long and happy lives. This is why Jasmine works hard to ensure her patients are well cared for by her and the devoted staff at Melba Vet Clinic. She has been serving her community as a veterinarian for over 8 years.

After graduating from the University of Sydney she has worked in Victoria, New South Wales and Canberra, enjoying the thrills of both small and large animal practice. Jasmine has a strong passion for small animal medicine and surgery and is thrilled to be building Melba Veterinary Clinic with her husband Henry.

She is supported by her two fur-babies, Gretel the cat and Rupert the dog.

Dr Harry Roach - B VetBio, BVetSc. (Hons)

Veterinary Associate

Harry grew up on a small property just outside of Cooma, where his love of animals developed. After studying veterinary science at Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga, Harry worked for 4 years in mixed practice in Yass, caring for cats and dog, as well as livestock. Harry has joined recently and is excited to be a part of the Melba team. Harry is committed to caring for all creatures, great and small.

Outside of work, Harry spends his time looking after two border collies, Socks and Artemis. On a weekend you can catch Harry playing golf, at the gym or playing rugby through the winter months.

Henry Gregory BLAS

Director / Practice Manager

Henry is our Owner and Practice Manager who grew up on a sheep farm in Jerilderie, NSW. It is here that his love of animals first developed. He graduated from Sydney University with a Bachelor of Science and has spent a large portion of his career involved in livestock breeding and Landcare initiatives ever since.

Henry has enjoyed his move to Canberra and enjoys serving Melba and the surrounding community through his work with Melba Veterinary Clinic. In his spare time Henry enjoys playing piano, singing and acting. You might be able to spot him in Canberra’s music scene from time to time.

Alex Spivey

Practice Manager

Alex grew up in Eden on the Far South Coast, where she has always been surrounded by animals. Having pets from a small age has shown her that love comes in all shapes and sizes. After moving to Canberra in 2019, Alex is happy to call the Capital of Australia home.

She joined Melba Vet in July of 2023 as the receptionist and cannot get enough of it. Alex’s passion and love for animals is continuing to grow day by day. She can assure you that when your fur babies are here at Melba Vet, they are getting the love they deserve.

When Alex isn’t at work, you’ll find her at home with her two cats, Poppy and Ava or heading down the coast to visit her family in Eden.

Tayla McTiernan - Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing

Head Veterinary Nurse

Tayla brings with her 7 years of dedicated experience in veterinary care. Tayla is passionate about providing top-notch care to our patients and always goes the extra mile to ensure everyone feels comfortable and cared for.

When she’s not making a difference at work, Tayla loves to relax, travel, and spend quality time with her friends and family. She also shares her adventures with her adorable Kelpie X dog, Dingo.

Michelle George - Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing

Receptionist

Michelle grew up in the small town of Crookwell in New South Wales where she has owned pets almost all of her life and understands the value of the unconditional companionship our furry loved ones provide.

She completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2022 and is passionate about the well-being of all animals, continuously striving to provide the best quality of care possible. Michelle has a special affinity for felines and is known as the avid cat lover of the Melba Vet team.

When she’s not studying or at the clinic, Michelle likes to participate in long naps, gaming sessions, looking up memes, and enjoying the company of her cats Kasper and Aela.

Kaitlyn Woodward - Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing

Veterinary Nurse

Katie brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to Melba Vet Clinic, having been surrounded by animals her entire life—from small bunnies to majestic horses. Her passion for veterinary care was ignited on a cattle station in New South Wales when she was just six years old, and it has guided her journey to Canberra, where she is now dedicated to studying and working in small animal medicine. Katie’s commitment to learning and her deep love for animals make her an invaluable asset to our team and the community.

When she’s not at the clinic, you’ll likely find Katie exploring new trails on horseback or diving into her next creative endeavor. Her loyal companions, Luna the Kelpie and Stitch the Mini Fox Terrier X, are never far from her side and are beloved by all who know her.

Kameel Amod - Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing

Veterinary Nurse

Kameel was born and raised in South Africa where he grew up with a Husky and German Shepherd cross that engrained his love for big dogs. As well as this, Kameel befriended the neighbourhood cat that would come to see him and so his love for animals started to grow.

He developed a mission to find out how to help animals and improve their lives to the best of his ability. Kameel completed his Certificate in Veterinary Nursing in 2024. He doesn’t have his own pet yet because of where he lives but he’s excited for when he can finally adopt his own! Till then, in his spare time, he likes to play games, skateboard, watch movies or YouTube and he also loves a good hike.

Dr Sunita Neville BVSc, MANZCVS (Small Animal Surgery)

Veterinary Associate

Sunita is a highly experienced veterinarian with a deep passion for surgical excellence. Graduating from the University of Sydney in 1995, she has spent nearly three decades caring for animals across Australia and the UK.

Sunita’s career has spanned all aspects of veterinary medicine—from small animal general practice and emergency care to working with racehorses, wildlife, and livestock. Her diverse background also includes roles with the RSPCA, teaching at TAFE, and serving as a track veterinarian for Racing NSW and Harness Racing NSW.

In recent years, Sunita has dedicated her focus to advanced surgical care. She completed the Improve International Small Animal Surgery modular course in 2019 and achieved Membership in the Australia and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists (Small Animal Surgery) in 2022. Currently, she focuses primarily on surgery, bringing a high level of expertise and precision to every procedure.

Maiya Edmondson - Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing

Veterinary Nurse

Maiya grew up on farms around Jindabyne and the South Coast of NSW, surrounded by animals, an upbringing that inspired her lifelong passion for animal care. In 2017, she moved to Canberra to study Veterinary Nursing, completing her Certificate IV in 2018. Since joining the Melba team in 2025, she has been dedicated to delivering high quality care, with a thorough and attentive approach to every patient. She has a particular soft spot for cats and a strong interest in feline care.

At home, Maiya is kept busy by her two mischievous cats, Ziggy and Zorro, who share a love of chicken and cardboard boxes. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time outdoors, including climbing, skiing, camping and hiking, as well as tending to her ever growing collection of plants and her garden.

Marianna Amy - Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing

Veterinary Nurse

Marianna is a Veterinary Nurse at Melba Veterinary Clinic, having joined the team in 2026. She brings over 10 years of veterinary nursing experience, having worked in genral practices, emergency clinics and referral hospitals throughout Australia.

Originally from Jersey in the Channel Islands, Marianna grew up on a dairy farm, which shaped her interest in animal care and welfare from an early age. She relocated to Australia in 2015 and has lived and worked in several parts of the country, most recently in the Sunraysia region of rural Victoria. Her particular areas of interest include pathology, wildlife care and feline medicine.

Marianna shares her home with Maple, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, and two rescue cats, Phoebe and Cody. Outside of work, she enjoys cycling and snowboarding, as well as spending time outdoors and exploring nature on bushwalks with Maple.

Marianna is committed to providing high-quality, patient-centred care, with a focus on patient welfare, comfort and clinical outcomes.
