GapOnly

GapOnly® is a pet insurance payment service, allowing pet parents with a policy from a GapOnly pet insurance partner to claim on the spot and only pay the gap (the difference between the vet’s invoice and the eligible claim benefit under their policy).

Only certain insurance policies are eligible. You can check our latest pet insurance partners at gaponly.com.au/gaponly-insurance-partners.

A GapOnly® claim will take around 10 minutes to process, while you’re still at the clinic. If we think the claim will take a little longer we’ll let you know as soon as possible so you can decide whether you’d like to wait, or if available, submit an electronic pet insurance claim instead (pay the whole invoice and get reimbursed later).

To help speed up this process, please let your vet know as early as possible that you’d like to use GapOnly® for your pet insurance claim, either when you first book the appointment, or when you first arrive at the clinic. This will help us minimise any possible delays.

If your pet has an upcoming surgery or scheduled hospital visit and you’d like to know whether your pet insurance policy covers the procedure, prior to treatment you can request a pre-approval via your vet. Simply ask us to organise one for you through your insurance provider when you first book your pet’s appointment, or after your pet’s consultation. Once the pre-approval process has been completed you’ll hear from your insurance provider in writing to confirm.

Remember to understand your pets insurance policy. Your policy may not cover routine vaccinations, desexing costs, dentistry or cruciate ligament injury. Your policy may only cover your pet for a certain percentage of the costs. The gap may differ depending on your pets condition.

If in doubt please contact your insurance company and us to discuss. Please be mindful that if the GapOnly claim is declined or if the gap is much smaller than you anticipated you will still have to pay all outstanding amounts to the vet clinic on the day that the work was performed.

Cancellation/Failure Policy
Canberra is currently experiencing a vet shortage. As a result, many people struggle to find vet care when they really need it. Last-minute cancellations or simply not showing up for your appointment prevents other pets from being seen.

To avoid impacting the health of other pets who need to be seen, we kindly request you advise us if unable to make your scheduled appointment time by calling us.

Failure to show up or cancellation within 24 hours of appointments may require you to pre-pay a consult fee (non-refundable) when booking future appointments.

Failure to show up or cancellation within 24 hours of procedures may incur a cancellation fee.
